There are a number of key ingredients to make delegation successful, and in this one-day workshop, we explore how to assess each individual in your team for effective delegation.

As part of the pre-work for this programme, it is helpful to consider the individuals in your team and the tasks that you would seek to delegate.  If you do not already have a skills matrix, it can be helpful to sketch out a basic map of tasks and individual knowledge (1-4 where 4 is high) and experience.

For example, I may have good knowledge of a complicated process (4) but my experience of doing the process may be low so far (1).  Therefore, to delegate to me would be risky. Imagine if I was a medical student and the process was open-heart surgery!

Other important learning outcomes for this workshop are as follows:

  1. To know when total delegation is appropriate and when more supported direction is required.
  2. To be able to communicate effectively for delegation and know how to get the amount of follow-up correct.
  3. To recognise when instructions may be open to interpretation and assumptions and how to minimise these.
  4. To be able to spot opportunities to use delegation for personal development.

This one-day workshop is suitable for any managers and leaders looking to perfect their delegation skills.

We have never had such positive feedback. I will have no hesitation in recommending Real Results to my colleagues and contacts in the future.
